…enjoyed getting to know my husband’s relatives in Germany. Here we are on a walk with three little doggies in Stadtpark.

And here is the European breakfast we enjoyed every morning.  We had multigrain rolls, 5-minute eggs, cheeses and meats, tea and coffee and juice.

WP_20141018_02_57_54_ProWe met more family members after church in Hamburg.  We walked up to the tower in St. Michael’s church and toured Hamburg by foot.  We had a delicious lunch at the Old Commercial Room.

We met more members of the family on our last evening in Germany.  It was so nice to see Uschi with her grandchildren and their friends.

WP_20141020_19_44_02_ProThey spoke English very well.  We enjoyed a very German meal with red cabbage (made just the way Rob’s grandmother made it), potato balls and roasted pork shoulder.  The red wine was the best I’ve tasted in years! I had no morning-after headache either.

It was a long flight, but we made the journey safely home. Feeling a little jet lagged, I continued my schedule of events including Toastmasters on Wednesday and HCAT Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday night.  Mary Greendale, who produces more programming than anyone else in Holliston handed out letter openers in the shape of a heart for everyone. I met some new volunteers and enjoyed the festivities.

…drove to Rhode Island to share my quilts and stories with the Ninigret Quilters. I stopped by the ocean and took a few photos before the talk.

Here’s some show and tell …..

I appreciate all the quilters who left feeling a bit more confident to free motion quilt after a day of doodling.
